For this one I've gone through my 2011 calendar and made a list of what made me happy in 2011.
2011 – things that made me happy (not in the order of them happening)
- Holiday in QLD - (to see my sister and her family), had time in Brisbane with them then we all went to Sunshine Coast for a few nights. Very relaxing!
- Holiday in Mansfield ,Victoria - we had a great time seeing and touching snow (for the first time for hubby and the kids), country zoo where we got to feed the animals and saw the lion being fed, soaked in some Ned Kelly history at Stringybark tree and Glenrowan and enjoyed some time relaxing and being together.
- Cuddles with Savannah
- Cupcake decorating course
- Barista course
- Fortnightly coffee dates catch-ups
- Scrapbooking – finally finishing my 2010 album!
- Losing weight
- “me time” at the gym
- Getting my kindle
- Reading books
- Hunter starting school – big step!
- The big cuddles and kiss I got every morning from Hunter at kindy and then school drop offs

- Movies with my sister
- Taking Hunter to see the Smurfs in 3D
- Completing the C25K program
- Fridays off from work – enabled me to catch up with family and friends
- My job – it’s flexible, interesting work and pays well
- Taking Savannah to ballet lessons
- Getting my hair cut and coloured - love a hairdresser's hair wash
- Making contact with some old friends and catching up (although infrequently)
- Messy Church
- Taking Hunter to his friend's birthday parties (I enjoy this as it means he is conecting enough with people for them to want him at their party)
- Going on kindy excursions with Hunter - we went to the Maritime Museum, the zoo and Patch Theatre
- Going on school excursion with Hunter - we went to the zoo
- Seeing Wicked with my parents
- Dinner with Nigel at Enzos (I won a $150 voucher - very nice meal - we don't normally spend that much on dinner!!)
- Getting together as a family for Gramps's birthday (this unfortunately was the day after Mama's funeral), seeing cousins I hadn't seen in a long time
- Savannah toilet training
- Trip to Sydney for work - but was staying at a beautiful location at the Rocks - went jogging on the Sydney Harbour and up to the Opera House
- Going out for dinner with friends
- Taking my family to the circus for the first time

- Catching up with family at Christmas (extended - we caught up with family on the 24th, 25th and 27th)
- Seeing the fireworks at the Beach on New Years Eve
So much positivity, I hope you have another brilliant year!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lauren!
DeleteFantastic list!!! I just noticed you started a blog for this year for your challenges- did you blog somewhere else before or is this your first? Best of luck with it!
ReplyDeleteA superhero birthday party sounds fun! My boys had a Wiggles themed party in 2011 and Noah, my older son, had a very hungry caterpillar themed party for his 1st birthday. Lots of fun party planning!
I am thinking about doing Couch to 5K?! Not sure I would stick with it though but perhaps I should start and see how I go anyway. It would mean running at about 11 at night when my husband gets home from work but it might be nice to have that time outside.
Good luck with 2012 and SYL12 and other challenges.
Lauren - thanks!
ReplyDeleteLula - I have another blog of sorts called From the mouth of Hunter - and was basically funny things my son Hunter said. I started that when he was 3 (he is now 5) but didn't update very often - my plan was to record a funny thing he said each day - didn't happen (the funny sayings did, the updating didn't) - so this is really my first blog as such. Give the c25k plan a go - it really does make it easy to run! I (bought and) did it on the treadmill so I could do when the kids were asleep.
This looks like a great list! Sounds like you had a great year in 2011, heres to another in 2012 ;)
