Life challange - week 7 - vision boards

Whilst I do enjoy scrapbooking - I don't consider myself to be a creative person. For Week 7 we were asked to create a vision board, so time to get a little creative.  I didn't have any magazines so had to find a different way. I did a few Internet searches, however this was time consuming. I then spent one evening watching TV and cutting out words from newspapers. I cut out words that screamed out to me - some were from my goals, some from my values, some my mission statement and some I just liked.

On Saturday afternoon I spent some time sticking the words onto some cardboard.  I got out the craft box and my daughter even had a go at making a picture too.

My finished vision board:

I put it up in my bedroom underneath a photo of hubby and I.

Here is Savannah having a go.

Here is her finished product.  We then hung it on the wall in her bedroom.

Hunter then found the craft stuff and decided to make something too.
Here is one of his pieces.. (he took the photo which is why it's a little blurry!)

And we put them in his room.

So this activity lead to some creativity time for all of us.

  1. How cute that everyone got to join in.
I love it. Postive words, budget, I also love the 'get to bed early' bit. i could do with that on my vision board, but then it never would happen.

    1. Thanks Miss Mandy. Getting to bed early is one of my goals - one which I'm not quite getting right yet!

  2. Early to bed should have been on my goal list or vision board too! I just love the peace and quiet of a house full of sleeping children too much to go to bed and waste it! haha.
I love the fact that the kids got involved and made their own pictures. That's what it's all about. Well done!

    1. Thanks! I hear you on the quiet house with sleeping kids! My son is a stinker to get to bed - so for me to get this quiet time I need to stay up late!

  3. Oh I love that you included your kids as well. My older one did do a collage this week for Valentine`s Day but I didn`t work on mine at the same time but maybe I should of.

    Great board!

    1. Thanks Lulu, I really got them to do one of their own so they didn't bother me haha - but it made for a great family activity (otherwise mine would have looked completely different)

  4. Love that quote, 'Ever tried, ever failed...' Also lovely to see your kids make one and have it in their room :)

    1. Thanks! I really like that quote too. Screamed out to me given my value of "give it a go" - you don't have to succeed but you have to try!

    1. Thanks Paula. I didn't have any magazines either - but luckily the in-laws has been staying and they buy the newspapers (we are too stingy for those types of things) so I used them.

    1. Thanks Ames - they certainly had fun with it too. My kids both love craft and making - especially my 5 year old son (which surprises me)
